With Sappyfest and O.K. Quoi?! in town, tomorrow’s Farmer’s Market should be exciting and busy. We’ve worked hard to ensure a variety of local preserves to retail and are excited to bring to the market:

As summer turns to fall…

As the season winds down, I’ll still be making jams, jellies, salsas, conserves and pickles on a regular basis and capturing the best of available fruits and vegetables, but the pace is slowing down. The Facebook page and website will be kept updated with all the latest preserves. Instead of a weekly update with new offerings, the “In the Pantry” section will be kept updated.

Still, while the pace may be slower, I’ve made some special preserves that are currently cellaring to perfection and will be debuted in time for the holiday season. You don’t want to miss these gems!

I welcome local customers to my home for pick up, I’m happy to deliver your order if you’re nearby and I lovingly package orders for expedited shipping.

Weekly Offerings ~ August 26th

This Saturday is my last day at the market. If you’re in the Sackville area, come down to the Bridge Street Cafe and enjoy some artisan preserves, live music, fresh breads and more.

Sweet Offerings:

Blueberry Walnut Conserve – 6.00

– wild Nova Scotia blueberries, citrus slices and hearty walnuts combine to form a beautiful and rich conserve

Vanilla Peach Jam – 5.50

– reduced-sugar allows the warm peach and vanilla flavours to shine through in this chunky jam. A portion of vanilla bean added to each jar for even greater flavour.

Brown Sugar and Cinnamon Pear Jam – 5.00

– caramel coloured goodness with the comforting spice of cinnamon

Honey Pear and Vanilla Jam – 5.50

– a beautiful amber coloured jam with vanilla bean caviar and the earthy warmth of honey

Apple Jelly – 5.00 

– fresh, local apples with the perfect hint of cinnamon

 Blueberry Apple Spread – 5.00

– naturally sweetened with apple juice allows the blueberries to be the star of this show

 Blueberry Lime Jam – 5.00

– slight hint of lime juice and zest balance beautifully with blueberries


Red Pepper Jelly – 5.00

–  this sweet and spicy jelly will liven up your crackers with cheese and make an excellent dipping sauce

 Apple Chutney – 5.00

– fresh local apples livened up with onions, garlic and spices. Delightful served with pork chops, chicken, fish or with a curry.

 Dilled Garlic Beans – 5.00

– tender and crisp green beans in a garlic, peppercorn and dill brine. Perfect for the pickle fan.

 Papa Jon’s Fiery Pepper Jelly – 3.00

– jalapeno peppers add heat to this balsamic and red pepper jelly. Try this on your next grilled cheese for a spicy kick.

Each week, we whip up new batches of preserves based on availability of fruits and vegetables. Never satisfied with the same preserves, each week is an exciting array of sweet, savoury and spicy flavours that capture the best of the season. Enjoy!

Lemon Blueberry Jam ~ 5.00

  • lemon adds the perfect zing to mellow blueberry

Jalapeno Gold ~ 5.00

  • sweet and spicy, this translucent jelly with floating pearls of red pepper, jalapeno, apricots and red onions is as delicious with crackers and cheese as it is slathered on your grilled cheese

Red Currant Orange Jelly ~ 5.00

  • orange adds a lovely flavour and warmth to this beautiful red jelly. Makes a divine glaze for a fruit tart or served European style with your roast meat.

Sour Cherry Jam ~ 5.00

  • fresh, local sour cherries sweetened up and made ready for your morning toast or stirred into yogurt. Try this jam in the Eastern European style: dollop of jam and a mug of strong tea.

Balsamic Mustard ~ 3.00 (125 mL)

  • garlic and brown mustard seeds add the heat that sweet balsamic vinegar tames. A delicious addition on your next roast vegetable sandwich.

Mustard with Lime and Coriander ~ 3.00 (125 mL)

  • lime and coriander add liveliness to this coarse ground mustard and is perfect with fish and chicken

Spiced Apple Butter ~ 6.00

  • cardamom, nutmeg and cinnamon add warmth and coziness to this thick apple butter
